abide photo retreat
A few months ago, I got the opportunity to attend a photography retreat in the Oregon mountains. The idea was to take time away to rest, collaborate, and give space for inspiration. It turned out to be all of these things, and then some! The weekend was hosted by two photographers I've followed and admired for a long time, and there were ten other attendees. We stayed in a gorgeous, secluded cabin, and roamed the wilderness around it.
We learned, commiserated, explored, drank wine, swapped stories, and created just because. It was magical.
I was reminded of a lot of things during the retreat:
We are our best selves when we are open.
Building each other up is always better than competing.
Balance is hard.
Social media is a strange world.
Authenticity is wayyy more important than a high follower count.
Creating for sake of creating is worthwhile.
I came home refreshed, inspired, and with a renewed commitment to myself to create images that I'm proud of, not ones I think will get the most "likes".
So, here's a mishmash slew of photos I like.
And while I hope you like them too, I'll be okay if you don't! <3
P.S- all these babes are photogs who just happen to also look like models
Here's links to the Instagram accounts of all the ladies who were there! I'm so thankful for my time with such a wonderful crew.
Happy weekend! I hope you make time to make just for the sake of it <3
